Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole

🥘 Biscuits and Gravy with Sausage and Egg Breakfast Casserole

This is a hearty breakfast that’s perfect for weekends or brunch. Creamy gravy, savory sausage, fluffy eggs, and golden biscuits all in one dish—it’s comfort food at its best! Even novice cooks can make this quickly.

👉Ingredients:

▶️8 refrigerated biscuits (tube)

▶️1 lb ground breakfast sausage

▶️2 packs country gravy mix

▶️1 can evaporated milk (12 oz)

▶️12 large eggs

▶️Salt and pepper, to taste

▶️Optional: butter or cooking spray for greasing the pan

👉Instructions:

✅️1. Preheat the oven:

◾️Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 baking dish lightly with butter or cooking spray.

✅️2. Cook the sausage:

◾️Brown the sausage in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain excess grease to avoid a greasy casserole.

✅️3. Make the gravy:

◾️Reduce the heat to medium-low. Sprinkle the gravy mix over the cooked sausage, then add 1 cup evaporated milk and 1 cup water. Stir constantly until the gravy thickens and becomes creamy.

✅️4. Prepare the eggs:

◾️In a separate bowl, whisk together the 12 eggs, 5 oz evaporated milk, and a pinch of salt and pepper.

◾️Lightly scramble the eggs in a skillet over medium heat until just set—they’ll cook further in the oven.

✅️5. Assemble the casserole:

◾️Layer 1/3 of the sausage and gravy in the bottom of the baking dish.

◾️Spread half of the scrambled eggs over the sausage layer.

◾️Repeat with another layer of gravy and eggs.

◾️Top with the remaining sausage and gravy mixture.

✅️6. Add the biscuits:

Place the biscuits evenly on top of the casserole. They’ll bake into a golden, fluffy topping.

✅️7. Bake:

Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the biscuits are fully cooked and lightly golden on top.

✅️8. Serve:

Let the casserole rest for 5 minutes before serving. Slice into squares and enjoy!

💡 3 Tips for Success:

➡️1. Don’t overcook the eggs before layering—they’ll stay moist and fluffy in the oven if slightly underdone.

➡️2. Grease the pan well to prevent the biscuits and gravy from sticking.

➡️3. Use a toothpick test for the biscuits—insert it into the center, and if it comes out clean, the casserole is ready.
