✅️ Beef & Onion Gravy with Crispy Oven Fries ππ₯©
π Nothing beats golden, crunchy fries topped with tender beef and rich onion gravy. Perfect for a cozy dinner at home!
✅️ Ingredients
➡️ For the Beef and Onion Gravy:
◾️ 1 lb beef stew meat or flank steak, cut into strips
◾️ 2 tbsp olive oil
◾️ 2 large onions, thinly sliced
◾️ 2 cloves garlic, minced
◾️ 1 cup beef broth
◾️ 1/2 cup dry red wine (optional)
◾️ 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
◾️ 1 tbsp soy sauce
◾️ 1 tsp dried thyme
◾️ 1/2 tsp salt
◾️ 1/2 tsp black pepper
◾️ 1 tbsp all-purpose flour
◾️ 1 tbsp butter (optional)
➡️ For the Fries:
◾️ 4 large russet potatoes, peeled & cut into fries
◾️ 2 tbsp vegetable oil
◾️ Salt, to taste
◾️ Fresh parsley (optional)
✅️ Instructions:
π Step 1 – Bake the Fries:
◾️ Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C).
◾️ Toss potatoes with vegetable oil & spread on baking sheet.
◾️ Season with salt & bake 30–35 min, flipping halfway.
π Step 2 – Cook Beef & Onions:
◾️ Heat olive oil in skillet over medium-high.
◾️ Brown beef 4–5 min, remove & set aside.
◾️ Add onions, cook 10–12 min until caramelized.
◾️ Stir in garlic, cook 1 min.
π Step 3 – Make the Gravy:
◾️ Sprinkle flour over onions, stir & cook 2 min.
◾️ Gradually add beef broth while stirring.
◾️ Add wine (optional), Worcestershire, soy sauce, thyme, salt, & pepper.
◾️ Simmer 5–7 min until thickened.
◾️ Return beef, stir & simmer another 5–7 min.
◾️ Stir in butter if desired.
π Step 4 – Serve:
◾️ Plate fries, top with beef & onion gravy, garnish with parsley.
