๐ฅฉ Pepper Steak with Bell Peppers & Onion
✅️ Ingredients:
◾️ 1 lb flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
◾️ 1 green bell pepper, sliced
◾️ 1 red bell pepper, sliced
◾️ 1 large onion, sliced
◾️ 2 tbsp vegetable oil
◾️ 3 tbsp soy sauce
◾️ 1 tbsp oyster sauce
◾️ 1 tbsp cornstarch
◾️ 1/2 cup beef broth
◾️ 1 tsp sesame oil
◾️ 2 cloves garlic, minced
◾️ 1/2 tsp freshly ground black pepper
◾️ Steamed white rice, for serving
✅️ Directions:
๐ 1. In a bowl, mix the steak slices with 1 tbsp soy sauce, cornstarch, and black pepper. Marinate for 15 minutes.
๐ 2. Heat 1 tbsp vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Sear the steak 1–2 minutes per side until browned. Remove and set aside.
๐ 3. Add the remaining oil, stir-fry onion and bell peppers for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp.
๐ 4. Return steak to pan. Add remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, beef broth, garlic, and sesame oil. Stir and simmer for 2–3 minutes until sauce thickens.
๐ 5. Serve hot over steamed white rice.
✅️ Tips:
◾️ Freeze steak 30 mins before slicing for easier thin cuts.
◾️ Add a splash of rice vinegar or Shaoxing wine with sauces for extra flavor.
◾️ Mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 2 tbsp water, stir in at end for thicker sauce.
