๐ฎ๐น Italian Sausage with Peppers & Onions – YAY or NAY? ๐๐ฅ
Juicy sausage, sweet peppers, caramelized onions… this dish is a flavor bomb! Serve it in a hoagie roll, over pasta, or just as is. The family will DEVOUR it! ๐คค
๐ Ingredients:
๐ 1 lb Italian sausage links (mild or spicy)
๐ 2 tbsp olive oil
๐ 1 red, 1 green & 1 yellow bell pepper (sliced) ๐ถ️
๐ 1 large onion (sliced) ๐ง
๐ 3 garlic cloves (minced) ๐ง
๐ 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes (optional for saucier version)
๐ 1 tsp dried oregano
๐ 1 tsp dried basil
๐ Salt & pepper to taste
๐ Fresh parsley (for garnish) ๐ฟ
๐ Hoagie rolls (optional – for sandwiches ๐ฅ)
๐ฉ๐ณ Instructions:
◾️ Cook Sausage → Brown sausages in olive oil until golden. Remove & set aside.
◾️ Sautรฉ Veggies → In the same skillet, cook peppers, onions & garlic until soft & caramelized.
◾️ Combine → Slice sausages into chunks, return to skillet. Add tomatoes (if using), oregano, basil, salt & pepper. Simmer 10–15 min.
◾️ Serve → Over pasta ๐, in hoagie rolls ๐ฅ, or straight from the pan ๐.
