π± Smothered Pork Chops – OMG DON’T LOSE THIS! π
πΉ️ Ingredients
◾️ For the Pork Chops:
π 1 lb (500 g) bone-in pork chops (about ¾–1 inch thick)
π ½ tbsp onion powder
π ½ tbsp garlic powder
π ½ tsp cayenne pepper
π 1 tsp seasoning salt
π ½ tsp freshly cracked black pepper
π 2 tsp olive oil
π ½ cup all-purpose flour
π 2 tbsp olive oil (for frying)
π 1 tbsp unsalted butter
◾️ For the Gravy:
π 1 tbsp unsalted butter
π 1 large onion, thinly sliced
π Pinch of salt
π 4 garlic cloves, minced
π 1 tsp fresh thyme, chopped
π ½ cup chicken broth (divided)
π ¾ cup buttermilk or heavy cream
π Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
✅️ Instructions
◾️ Pork Chops:
1. π Pat pork chops dry and season with spices + olive oil.
2. π Dredge in flour (keep leftover flour for gravy).
3. π Fry in olive oil + butter until golden brown, remove and keep warm.
◾️ Gravy:
1. π Melt butter, add onions + salt, cook until caramelized (10 min).
2. π Stir in garlic + thyme, cook 30 sec.
3. π Add 2 tbsp leftover flour, stir, cook 2 min.
4. π Pour in broth, scrape browned bits, reduce 2 min.
5. π Whisk in buttermilk/cream, simmer until creamy.
6. π Return pork chops, coat with sauce, simmer 5 min.
